What is a Private Investigator?

A Licensed Private Investigator is a professional who has been trained to conduct investigations for private individuals, law firms, insurance companies and corporations in order to confirm or disprove gathered information.

The skills and services provided by Private Investigators vary greatly. Private Investigators can focus their practice by the service they offer such as surveillance or skip tracing. In addition, Private Investigators can focus their interest on a specific type of case such as human trafficking, fraud, adultery or criminal defense.  

What is a Certified Fraud Examiner?

A Certified Fraud Examiner is a highly skilled professional who has been trained to identify evidence of fraud, evaluate fraud risk and provide solutions.

Fraud Examiners become certified through the ACFE, which is the only organization that offers the credential to qualified professionals. The certified professionals must complete at least 20 hours of continuing professional education every year in order to maintain the certification.
